Pitts S-2S grass-strip departure Aaron McCartan

Departing for the aerobatic box during a training camp in Kansas. Aircraft is my Pitts S-2S, a single-seat variant of the S-2A fuselage with the six-cylinder Lycoming 540 on the front. When climbing at best-rate (Vy, 97mph indicated) this aircraft will sustain climbs in excess of 2800 feet per minute. See my other videos for helmet-cam POV.
