A friend of mine departing for the aerobatic box in his Panzl S-330 aerobatic aircraft. As you can see, it's not for lack of climb performance.
The Panzl S-330 is powered by a Lycoming 540 cubic-inch engine with high-compression pistons. The engine is tuned to produce around 330 horsepower. All of this power is converted into thrust by a wide-chord (203cm) MT 3-blade propeller. The fuselage is steel truss and the wings are wood. The main spar that bears the load in the wing is nearly 12 inches tall and approximately 6 inches thick at the root which gives the aircraft incredible structural resillience.
This video hardly demonstrates the performance of the aircraft, just shows a nice takeoff departure.
Tried to free-hand the video, it's not the best but a good try.
