multi level marketing vs pyramid scheme Entrepreneurs Don't Retire - 2017 - Episode 42

I saw a quote recently that said (excuse the language), “Eat shit for two years. Eat caviar for the rest of your life.” This reminded me of a similar idea inside of Network Marketing that says you can work hard and sacrifice for 2-4 years, and then you can spend the rest of your life on the beach. This type of expectation is a problem.

I understand the premise that if you do things that other people aren’t willing to do today, you can have results other people can’t have in the future. But, if you’re willing to really work hard for two years in order to have the rest of your life taking a vacation, you’re not an entrepreneur. You’re an employee minded person. And frankly, the chances of you actually doing the work are very small.

Entrepreneurs don’t do this as a short-term project. They do this as part of their DNA. They don’t do this for their own personal gain. They do this to change the world.

So, if you get involved in Network Marketing to make some money and you have an entrepreneurial mindset, your reason will shift to contribution to others, personal growth, and to expand your influence and legacy around the world. That is what entrepreneurs do. Entrepreneurs are creators, fixers of problems, people who improve the quality of life around the world. And it isn’t a two-year project.

If you’re financially struggling right now, you might be attracted to the idea of two years of hard work to have a lifetime of eating caviar. That’s fine. But, just know that if you want to become an entrepreneur, you have to start thinking like an entrepreneur. And entrepreneurs don’t understand the concept of retirement. That concept is completely alien to them. Why would they retire from passion, contribution, growth, purpose, or legacy? It doesn’t make any sense.
